TIBCO has released Spotfire version 7.6. This happened in Las Vegas during this year’s TIBCO NOW. Spotfire 7.6 has new features and enhancements which have further extended and improved its performance together with simplifying its use.
The additional features will assist users to overcome data analytics roadblocks. Now, when you hire Entrance Tibco Spotfire Consultants, you should ask them about this latest release. Here are some reasons why you should love TIBCO Spotfire 7.6.
Spotfire 7.6 comes with two new display types. These are:
Spotfire 7.6 Supports Tile Map Services (TMS). This will allow users to select their base map background from either Map Box TMS, Satellite Imagery TMS Stamen Watercolor TMS.
The new marking method is another feature which is very useful on Map Chart. Previously, users marked areas using rectangle sharp and then used Lasso selection to draw a custom shape. Now, users can mark their data based on the radius distance to a location while using the default map projection.
If you use Business Author to filter your data in Map Chart, the map automatically zooms to the filtered data.
Spotfire 7.6 has added more appearance properties to the current CrossTable and BoxPlot visualization types. These features will enable you to customize further the look of your report and then use the more flexible display options to enhance your analysis.
The installed Spotfire client allows you to open a tab of your report in a new window. The dashboard interactivity is retained even though tabs are shown in multiple windows. The time you will want to see detailed visualizations in separate screens, it’s when you will enjoy the benefits of this new feature.
This feature enables you to see how your multiple tabs on your dashboard are affected by filters or markings. The features also allow more screen estate to view your dashboards. There has been a similar feature in Spotfire Web Player since version 7.5.
It’s a common occurrence that it requires numerous steps to construct a data table for analysis use. Some of these steps are connecting to the data source, adding rows and columns and creating transformations amongst others.
In the earlier versions of Spotfire, Data Table Properties were only used to record these steps. This made it very challenging for the interpretation of the data and to make adjustments if it came to that.
However, in Spotfire 7.6, the source view of the expanded data panel provides a visual overview of the data table structure. This can provide you with detailed information about data source settings, operations and preview intermediate resulting tables.
This is usually very helpful, not only in the development phase of the analysis but also in the testing and troubleshooting steps.
Additionally, the earlier version had only two options, linking the data table to source and embedding the data table. In case one data table is developed using multiple data sources and one of the table is embedded, and this requires the final table to be inserted too.
In Spotfire 7.6 you don’t have to be worried about these options. The data table can be partly linked and partially embedded.
Spotfire 7.6 also allows you to store new data when possible. This enables the data table to use the stored data in case the source is not available and automatically refresh the data when the connections to the source are restored.
These data loading options are very flexible, and treasured, especially in optimizing the dashboard and analysis performance. This enables seamless user experience.
