It is a known fact that security is the top concern which is stopping many companies, even today, from moving to cloud.
Although all cloud vendors do assure the clients that their products are secure, however, from the consumer’s perspective, they may find the products to be “risky” to use. Obviously, that is not without a reason.
A lot of big and renowned companies have fallen victim to different kinds of cyber attacks, which has resulted in personal information and details of a consumer to fall in the hands of the individual or the group behind the attack. They usually sell this information in the black market. Furthermore, there have been cyber attacks in the financial institutions that resulted in theft of credit card and debit card details.

The primary reason why cloud application security needs to be taken more seriously is because majority of the companies are moving to cloud, and there has been an increase in the number of third party cloud vendors as well. However, these cloud vendors are not necessarily security vendors.
Apart from the fact the security and privacy should be the prime focus of the companies, they also need to be in compliance with the industry standards and abide by the guidelines set forth by the authorities.
